Taiwan Preparing to Impose Controls on Export of Certain Strategic Products to Iran and North Korea
The Taipei Times reports that Taiwan's Bureau of Foreign Trade is preparing to impose export controls on the exports from Taiwan to Iran and North Korea of 89 "strategically sensitive goods". Taiwanese exporters will first have to obtain export licenses or approval from the Ministry of Economic Affairs before exporting to Iran or North Korea a variety of strategically sensitive equipment, including natural or synthetic graphite, machine tools used in semiconductor manufacturing, forging machines and hydraulic lathes.
