Senate Approves Nomination of Next Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration

The Senate Banking Committee voted today to confirm Christopher R. Wall as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration. This position has been vacant since late 2007 when Christopher A. Padilla, the previous Assistant Secretary, was confirmed to serve as Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade.

Mr. Wall's testimony presented at his June 3rd confirmation hearing can be found here.

Mr. Wall's nomination should be considered by the full Senate in the coming weeks.
